SoCo Village, CarePatrol, and Austin Allies Support Seniors in Need

We’ve teamed up with CarePatrol of Central & South Austin and Austin Allies to bring comfort and essential items to older adults in long-term care settings across Austin this holiday season.

As part of the Austin Allies Holiday Helpers Drive, the senior residents of SoCo Village contributed generously by collecting puzzles, blankets, hats, magazines, and other thoughtful items to help brighten the season for others in need. The collaboration culminated in the Reindeer Games event at Bouldin Acres on South Lamar, co-hosted by CarePatrol and SoCo Village, where attendees gathered donations and celebrated the spirit of giving.

“It’s always a privilege to see our residents come together for a cause that supports older adults like themselves,” said Melissa Nix, Executive Director of SoCo Village. “This event embodies the values of community and compassion that are central to what we do.”

The donated items will be delivered to older adults in long-term care settings in the Austin area, with volunteers invited to participate in a gift-wrapping session hosted by Austin Allies.

The success of this collaboration highlights our community’s commitment to ensuring that all feel cared for and valued, especially during the holiday season.
